Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: To be set at launch
PaySovra is built for legitimate commerce, including businesses that traditional payment processors underserve. This policy keeps the prohibited list short and explicit: if your business is legal where you operate and where you sell, you can very likely use PaySovra. Some legal-but-restricted categories carry additional conditions.
1. Prohibited uses
You may not use PaySovra to sell, facilitate, or fund any of the following:
- Child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors.
- Transactions involving persons, entities, or jurisdictions subject to applicable sanctions (including OFAC-sanctioned parties).
- Trafficking in weapons, explosives, or controlled military goods.
- Illegal drugs or substances illegal in the jurisdiction of sale.
- Stolen goods, stolen data, or proceeds of crime, including money laundering.
- Malware, ransomware operations, or services that facilitate fraud (including phishing, fake documents, and account-takeover tooling).
- Human trafficking or sexual services involving coercion.
- Financing of terrorism or violent extremism.
- Ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, or deceptive investment products.
2. Restricted categories
Some categories are legal in certain jurisdictions but carry elevated platform risk. These are served under additional conditions rather than banned:
- Cannabis and cannabis products, where legal in the jurisdiction of sale.
- Gambling and games of chance, where licensed and legal.
- Adult content and services, where legal and involving only consenting adults.
- Tobacco, vaping products, and alcohol, where legally sold.
Conditions for restricted categories:
- You must accurately declare your business category during onboarding.
- A paid plan is required.
- PaySovra branding is removed from your checkout surfaces and hosted pages, and your business is excluded from any PaySovra merchant directory or marketing.
- You remain solely responsible for the legality of every sale you make.
3. Honest categorization
Misrepresenting your business category — in either direction — is a violation of this policy. Declaring a standard business as restricted to obtain branding removal, or declaring a restricted business as standard to avoid the conditions above, may result in plan correction, suspension, or termination.
4. Platform integrity
In addition to the category rules above, you may not:
- Probe, scan, or attack the Services, or attempt to access other merchants' data.
- Abuse address pools, rate limits, or free-tier quotas through automation.
- Resell or white-label the Services as your own platform without an Enterprise agreement.
- Use PaySovra checkout surfaces to harvest data unrelated to a genuine purchase.
5. Enforcement
We review reports, perform spot checks of hosted pages, and act on violations proportionally: warning, feature restriction, suspension, or termination. Because PaySovra is non-custodial, enforcement never touches funds you have already received. Where the law requires it, we may report activity to authorities.
6. Reporting
To report a merchant or page that violates this policy, email abuse@paysovra.com with the page link and a short description. We review every report.
